Over the course of the ELWar project, team members gathered a vast collection of data that will hopefully be useful to other scholars of the region and the topic. These data have been systematized and placed in reputable repositories. Users should cite the sources as listed below.

This repository contains the combined data from the 2018 and 2020 ELWar expert surveys on parties’ political ideology, policy positions, and behavior in six countries in South-East Europe: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia.

The repository contains the cleaned and labelled data, the codebook, and the sample questionnaire of a 2018 public opinion survey conducted in six Southeast European countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia. This survey captures the experiences of respondents and people close to them during the wars that followed the dissolution of Yugoslavia in the 1990s, and how they look back on these conflicts. In addition, the data contains people’s political views on issues such as nationalism, patriotism, economic policy, and interethnic relations. Finally, the survey measures the political behavior of participants, such as their electoral choices, news and media consumption, and the forms of political participation they engage in.

The repository contains a cleaned and pre-processed corpus of parliamentary debates from the National Assembly of Serbia. The corpus is accompanied by the metadata on elected representatives and their political parties. It covers the period of 1997-2020 (eight terms) and counts over 300 thousand speeches.

The corpus is accompanied by the metadata on elected representatives and their political parties. It covers the period of 2003-2020 (five complete terms) and counts over 500 thousand speeches.

The repository contains a cleaned and pre-processed corpus of parliamentary debates from the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The corpus is accompanied by the metadata on elected representatives and their political parties. It covers the period of 1998-2018 (six complete terms) and counts over 127 thousand speeches.

Set of vector maps of the territory of SFR Yugoslavia with the administrative division into municipalities in the period from 1970 to 1991, as well as the territories of Yugoslavia’s successor states – Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Slovenia – with the administrative division into municipalities in the period from 1992 to 2020. Vector data is stored as ESRI shapefiles and contains vector data – polygons. Municipal data valid on 1 July of a given year. All maps were newly created using information on individual municipalities published in Enciklopedija Jugoslavije and the official gazettes of the successor states: Službeni list Bosne i Hercegovine, Narodne novine, Gazeta Zyrtare e Republikës së Kosovës, Službeni list Crne Gore, Služben vesnik na Republika Severna Makedonija, Uradni list Republike Slovenije, Službeni glasnik Republike Srbije.
